One of this term’s most controversial figures, von Storch is a leader of the far-right Alternative for Germany now serving in the Bundestag after a three-year stint in Brussels and Strasbourg. The grand-daughter of Adolf Hitler’s finance minister, von Storch advocated shooting immigrants — including children — trying to enter Europe without a visa (she later toned down the remarks) and criticized German police for a New Year’s message tweeted in Arabic, which she described as appeasement of “rapist hordes.”
